The latest online check establishes status
While a file remains available it can be checked at scheduled intervals. When a meaningful later check finds it unavailable, the item receives confirmed-offline status. That timestamp records when our system observed the change, creating a traceable sequence from finding and review through notice and renewed verification.
Why attractive charts can otherwise mislead
A cumulative progress line is valid only when notices and offline confirmations use their real event dates. Applying today’s status to earlier weeks would create a smoother chart but false history. The reporting model therefore separates the sending date from later confirmation. Material already offline when discovered can be counted as documented and resolved without inventing a provider reaction.
Availability checks create the event history behind a trustworthy takedown chart. The report date records when a case was sent; the later online check records when the system could no longer reach the copy. Using those real dates prevents today’s status from being projected backwards into earlier weeks.
Transparency instead of a black box
The customer area shows how much detected content is currently confirmed offline and how much remains under monitoring. These are not blanket promises; they represent individual URLs that can be checked. Slow or unresponsive providers remain visible, giving customers a more realistic picture than a total of notices sent.
Rechecking also protects against premature success messages. A short server error, a changed response or a temporary block should not automatically be treated as a permanent removal.
