We process personal data only where it is necessary to operate this website, answer requests, handle registrations and provide the DMCA Protect service.

This website does not use externally loaded Google Fonts, Google Maps or advertising networks. Google Analytics is loaded on public pages only after your express consent.

Data we process

Server log files

When you access this website, technically necessary information may be processed, for example IP address, date and time, requested URL, browser type, operating system, referrer and server status. This data is used for technical delivery, security and troubleshooting.

Contact form

If you contact us through the form, your details are transmitted to us and processed to answer your request. This includes name, email address and message. We do not pass this information to advertising networks, analytics providers or Google.

Registration and customer area

When you register, we process login data, your domain, your email address and contract or communication data required to provide the test account, login, notifications and service operation.

DMCA Protect service

As part of the service, information about protected content, domains, detected sources, links, notices and processing status may be processed. This is necessary to search, verify, report and document potentially unauthorized distribution of content.

Optional face recognition

Face recognition is configured for a customer profile only when the customer expressly requests it and provides or approves reference images of a clearly named person. DMCA Protect does not maintain a general database of people and does not search for arbitrary persons. The customer must be entitled to have the reference images and facial features derived from them processed for the agreed protection purpose and is responsible for obtaining any consent required from the person shown.

Processing may include reference images, technical feature data derived from them, similarity values, detected images and review results. A technical face match is only an additional search signal. It does not automatically trigger an allegation, notice or removal request. Source, context, attribution and further indicators are reviewed before a case is processed.

The data is used only to provide the commissioned content protection. Access is limited to authorized staff and technically necessary protection systems. Reference images and associated profile features are deleted when the profile ends, authorization is withdrawn, or the protection purpose and any other legal basis no longer apply. Statutory retention duties and documentation of cases already processed may remain unaffected.

Cookies

We use necessary cookies and comparable technical identifiers so that login, registration, session protection, form protection and security-related functions can work. These cookies are not used for advertising tracking.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. This may limit functions such as login, registration or protected areas.

Consent and Google Analytics

On publicly accessible pages, and only after your express consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics is not loaded in the signed-in customer area.

The analysis helps us understand which source brought visitors to DMCA Protect, which public pages and articles they use and whether general actions such as opening the free trial, starting a form or completing an enquiry take place. We do not transmit form entries, email addresses, customer names, domains, projects, studios, models or data from the protected customer area. URL parameters are removed; only deliberately used campaign parameters such as utm_source, utm_medium or utm_campaign may be retained.

Google Analytics may process page views, time, approximate region, browser and device information, referral source, session information and the interactions described above. After consent, Google uses the first-party cookies _ga and _ga_<container-id>. We have limited their lifetime to no more than six months. Google Signals, advertising personalization and data transmission for advertising purposes are disabled.

The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(1) TDDDG. Without consent, the Google tag is not loaded and no analytics data is transferred to Google. Your choice is stored for six months in the technically necessary cookie dmca_analytics_consent. You can change your decision at any time through “Cookie and privacy settings” in the footer. Withdrawal applies to future processing.

User-level and event-level analytics data stored by Google is retained in our property for no more than 14 months. Processing by Google outside the European Economic Area cannot be ruled out completely. Google relies on the applicable legal transfer mechanisms for such transfers. Fonts and local resources

Fonts, scripts and layout files are delivered locally from our server. Loading the website does not create a connection to external font providers.

Payment processing

If paid services are booked, payment data may be processed through a payment service provider. Sensitive payment information such as credit card data is usually processed directly by the payment provider and is not stored permanently by us.

Legal basis and purposes

Depending on the process, data is processed to perform a contract or pre-contractual measures, to answer your request, based on your consent or based on our legitimate interest in secure, stable and abuse-resistant website operation.

Storage period

We store personal data only as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention periods. Technical logs are deleted regularly unless longer storage is required for security reasons. Optional face profiles are additionally subject to the purpose-bound deletion described above.

Your rights

Within the legal framework, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You may withdraw consent with effect for the future.
